F-harmonic Maps as Global Maxima
In this note, we show that some F -harmonic maps into spheres are global maxima of the variations of their energy functional on the conformal group of the sphere. Our result extends partially those obtained in [15] and [17] for harmonic and p-harmonic maps.
متن کاملStability of F-biharmonic maps
This paper studies some properties of F-biharmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds. By considering the first variation formula of the F-bienergy functional, F-biharmonicity of conformal maps are investigated. Moreover, the second variation formula for F-biharmonic maps is obtained. As an application, instability and nonexistence theorems for F-biharmonic maps are given.
متن کاملLiouville theorems for harmonic maps
Recently there has been much interest in the Liouville type theorems for harmonic maps. For a detailed survey and progress in this direction, see the works by Hildebrandt [4], Eells and Lemaire [2]. Here we would like to mention that for all known results, the conditions on the harmonic maps can be divided into two kinds. The first of these conditions concerns the finiteness of the energy of th...
متن کاملHarmonic Maps and Stability on f-Kenmotsu Manifolds
In Section 2, we give preliminaries on f-Kenmotsu manifolds. The concept of f-Kenmotsu manifold, where f is a real constant, appears for the first time in the paper of Jannsens and Vanhecke 1 . More recently, Olszak and Roşca 2 defined and studied the f-Kenmotsu manifold by the formula 2.3 , where f is a function on M such that df ∧ η 0. Here, η is the dual 1-form corresponding to the character...
متن کاملContinuity of the maps f↦∪x∈Iω(x, f) and f↦{ω(x, f): x∈I}
We study the behavior of two maps in an effort to better understand the stability of ωlimit sets ω(x, f ) as we perturb either x or f , or both. The first map is the set-valued function Λ taking f in C(I ,I) to its collection of ω-limit points Λ( f ) = ⋃x∈I ω(x, f ), and the second is the map Ω taking f in C(I ,I) to its collection of ω-limit sets Ω( f )= {ω(x, f ) : x ∈ I}.We characterize thos...
